For over three decades we have practised a single belief - that a home deserves artistry, not just decoration. From the ancient looms of Bhadohi to living rooms across the world, every piece we make carries a family's craft and a country's soul.
Our story begins in Bhadohi — the carpet capital of India — where the art of the hand-knotted carpet has been passed, knot by patient knot, from one generation to the next for over a century. There, beneath the shade of neem trees, weaving families measure their wealth not in ledgers, but in the fidelity of their craft.
What began as a single pit loom in 1987 grew into a quiet movement. We chose the olive — a tree of peace, patience and endurance — as our emblem, because a great handmade piece is all three at once. Today our atelier works intimately with hundreds of master craftspeople whose hands straddle eight generations of memory, translating centuries-old patterns into silhouettes a modern home can love.
Every carpet, rug, cushion and pouf we release is made from nature's own palette — hand-spun wool, pure silk, fine cotton and earthy jute — dyed with plant extracts and barks, and finished by the same hands that began it. Nothing is mass-produced, because heritage can never be.
A room should never shout. It should whisper heritage.
— The Olive RugsA single pit loom begins working in the older lanes of Bhadohi, guided by eighth-generation hands.
The early workshops gather neighbouring weaving families into a fair-trade circle bound by craft and care.
Our atelier takes its name and its ethos — the olive tree — and begins dressing its first homes.
Hundreds of master weavers, dyers and finishers join a network built on fair wages and honest materials.
From jaipur looms to the world's living rooms, our pieces now settle floors on every continent.
01
Only lustrous, hand-spun yarns pass the weaver's eye — each skein inspected for clarity, twist and strength before it earns its place.
02
Colours are brewed in open vats from madder root, marigold, pomegranate rind and mineral earth — a palette that ages with grace.
03
Hundreds of warp threads are strung tight and true across the vertical pit loom — the invisible skeleton of every design.
04
Knot by knot — thousands in a single day — patterns rise from memory and tracing, each knot locked by the artisan's thumb.
05
Washed, stretched, clipped and sheared to an even, calm pile — the piece finally reveals the glow the eye first imagined.
06
A master gauge holds the piece close — measuring knot density, pile depth and colour harmony before it earns the olive seal.

Hand-spun, naturally soft and tough — the warm soul of every pile.

Lustrous, dense and light-catching — reserved for heirloom knots.

Breathable, crisp and endlessly versatile for cushions and covers.

Earthy, rugged and fully compostable — sustainability underfoot.
Direct, fair-trade partnerships that pay artisans what their genius deserves.
Natural fibres, plant-based dyes and low-waste looms — luxury with a light footprint.
A tighter knot, a richer dye, a finish you can feel — nothing mass-produced.
Patterns drawn from centuries, made to outlive trends — like the homes they dress.

Behind every olive seal stands a family. Our master weavers are partners, not vendors — paid fairly, taught openly and supported in their children's schooling and their mothers' healthcare. The loom is rarely lonely: patterns, stories and techniques move between generations of the same house.
